Salary: €41 – 49.5k + Shift allowance

Our client is seeking a dedicated Craftworker – Mechanic to join their dynamic Engineering team in Dublin.
In this role, you will be responsible for the upkeep of the vehicle fleet and depot premises, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform skilled tasks related to the maintenance of the depot vehicle fleet and premises, ensuring safety and compliance with statutory and business requirements as directed by the supervisor
- Collaborate effectively with the Engineering Department team at the depot
- Ensure adherence to Data Protection legislation, Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety policies
- Foster cooperative relationships with Trade Unions, other departments, and relevant external agencies
- Adhere to the Safety Statement and guidelines as outlined in the “Safety in Engineering Handbook.”
- Comply with vehicle maintenance safety responsibilities as per manufacturer and BAC instructions
- Diagnose faults in vehicles and plant equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on vehicles, plant equipment, and premises
- Handle tasks related to the mechanical, electrical, and body systems of vehicles
- Operate garage equipment, grease vehicle lubrication points, change vehicle oils, and maintain vehicle batteries
- Maintain a clean and efficient workshop environment
- Undertake roadside repair and recovery of vehicles, including Electric Vehicles
- Report vehicle defects to the supervisor and undertake tasks as provided in the Productivity Agreements
- Drive all company vehicles as required
- Engage in all internal and external training provided by the company
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Understanding of safety issues related to the role, surroundings, and department
- Ability to prevent and address safety issues effectively
- Flexibility in working different roles and shift patterns
- Willingness to upgrade skills and adapt to new technology and changing work priorities
- Compliance with safety regulations
- Ability to diagnose and rectify vehicle defects
- Capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Experience with heavy (or light) duty vehicles
- Completion of a recognized heavy vehicle mechanic apprenticeship.
- Possession of a full, clean driving license (Category D preferred, Category B minimum).
- Must be over 21 years old (exceptions for current final year apprentices and recently completed BAC apprentices)
- Commitment to obtaining a “D” license within the required time frame
- Fluent in spoken and written English
