- Ensure technical compliance across all assigned DC&BS projects
- Manage the asset register from the design development phase through to commissioning handover
- Support the establishment of design trackers for each project, ensuring uniform processes are followed
- Assist in managing Ope Drawings for assigned projects
- Mentor graduate engineers on producing technical submissions, managing drawing production, issuing RFIs, and client interactions
- Participate in design team meetings, either in person or via MSTF teams
- Collaborate with design consultants to agree on deliverables and RACI matrices
- Review client responsibility matrices for alignment with the project and commercial team
- Monitor schedules and trackers throughout the duration of assigned projects
- Conduct regular technical submittal and working drawing reviews with the teams
- Support project workloads with tasks such as technical submittals, drawing reviews, and RFIs
- Assist project teams in achieving cost efficiency by reviewing orders for the best prices
- Evaluate project programs to ensure technical approvals and procurement align with requirements
- Challenge consultants and teams to implement value engineering strategies
- Regularly audit the project file key as requested by the direct line manager
- Help project teams establish O&M manual indices and trackers early in the project lifecycle
- Generate reports for assigned projects and submit to the direct manager at agreed intervals
- Provide assistance with tenders for new projects as needed
- Collaborate with the estimating department and pre-construction team at designated times
- Aid the commercial department in defining scope of works for contracts
- Support the setup of a value engineering log for the DC&BS group
- Undertake any additional tasks related to the design role as requested by the direct line manager
- Attend weekly Central Engineering Stage 5 model review meetings
- Participate in monthly Central Engineering face-to-face meetings
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with relevant certifications preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, including experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for creating detailed designs and technical drawings
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including setting up design trackers and ensuring adherence to timelines and processes
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations to ensure technical compliance across all design projects
- Experience in coaching and guiding junior engineers or team members in producing technical submissions and managing drawing production
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, clients, and consultants throughout the design process
