Mechanical Engineer

Salary: 60 – 80k

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and assign work schedules for the mechanical team and subcontractors
  • Plan and organize daily tasks for the team
  • Supervise and inspire team members to achieve their best performance
  • Ensure the proper handling of mechanical materials and equipment during installation
  • Maintain safety standards and comply with mechanical codes and work permits
  • Oversee the installation of all mechanical equipment on-site, including chillers, AHUs, pumps, and other systems
  • Possess experience in HVAC, cooling systems, firefighting, and plumbing
  • Familiarity with Data Centre redundancy connections
  • Monitor and track changes in scope, engineering modifications, non-conformities, and technical queries
  • Review work procedures and method statements, recommending improvements where necessary
  • Coordinate with various contractors for work execution, managing interferences and providing daily updates
  • Recruit, train, and assess the performance of new employees
  • Collaborate with on-site personnel from other departments (civil, electrical) to ensure smooth workflow and prevent clashes
  • Supervise mechanical operations on-site and report significant issues to senior management
  • Work with the on-site Mechanical Engineer/Mechanical Lead to review design requirements
  • Provide both moral and technical support as needed

Requirements:

  • Diploma Mechanical Engineer or Industrial Engineer experience is required.
  • 10+ years’ experience in similar role
  • Data Centre previous experience required 
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Excellent negotiation, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Proficient in use of systems software related to Engineering functions
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritise
  • Excellent communication skills in both Spanish and English
  • Ability to work on own initiative
