About the Role

Crewit Resourcing is recruiting for an experienced Chief Assistant Technical Services Officer (CATSO) to support the delivery of a major Energy Deep Retrofit Programme across a large and complex property portfolio.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering professional with extensive project management experience in energy, sustainability, decarbonisation, building services, and capital works delivery. The successful candidate will play a key role in the planning, management, and delivery of energy retrofit and carbon reduction initiatives while supporting long-term sustainability objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the delivery of large-scale energy retrofit and decarbonisation projects.
• Manage project resources, budgets, programmes, and timelines to ensure successful delivery.
• Coordinate and oversee design teams, technical advisors, contractors, and consultants.
• Support the development and implementation of decarbonisation plans for new and existing buildings.
• Prepare project briefs, specifications, procurement documentation, and tender submissions.
• Monitor project performance, expenditure, risks, and programme milestones.
• Advise on renewable energy technologies, energy-efficient design, and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
• Develop and manage energy efficiency and carbon reduction programmes.
• Liaise with key stakeholders, government bodies, utility providers, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support the development of sustainability, energy management, and climate action initiatives.
• Prepare reports, presentations, business cases, and project updates for senior management.

Candidate Requirements

Essential Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

• Degree Level 8 (or higher) qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering accredited by Engineers Ireland, or equivalent qualification; or
• Membership of the relevant professional engineering body.

Essential Experience

• Minimum 7 years' post-qualification experience in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in the design, construction, project management, installation, or maintenance of building services.
• Proven track record managing capital projects and construction contracts.
• Strong understanding of energy management, sustainability, building decarbonisation, and climate action initiatives.
• Experience managing multiple stakeholders within complex operational environments.
