Flushing & Water Treatment Technician

Crwit Resourcing is looking for a Flushing & Water Treatment Technician who will play a key role in preparing hydronic (water- based) HVAC systems for commissioning and handover by ensuring pipework cleanliness and appropriate water treatment.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out pipework flushing and cleaning operations on HVAC water systems using dynamic and static flushing techniques, including circulation, filtration and removal of construction debris.
  • Perform chemical treatment and dosing of closed-loop and water distribution systems (e.g., chilled water, heating loops, condenser water) to achieve required water quality prior to commissioning.
  • Conduct water sampling and analysis, interpret results for parameters such as pH, conductivity, suspended solids and contaminants, and adjust treatment as required.
  • Operate and maintain flushing equipment, pumps, side-stream filters, dosing rigs, hoses, valves and strainers safely and efficiently on site.
  • Follow BSRIA BG29/BG50 and CIBSE Code W best practice guidance for hydronic flushing and chemical cleaning operations.
  • Prepare detailed work reports, compliance documentation and certification of flushing and water treatment activities.
  • Work collaboratively with commissioning engineers, project managers and subcontractors to coordinate flushing tasks into the wider commissioning programme.
  • Ensure all work complies with health, safety and environmental regulations, including COSHH where chemicals are used.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in HVAC system commissioning, water treatment, pipework flushing or mechanical services.
  • Familiarity with hydronic systems (chilled water, heating circuits) and water quality testing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret HVAC drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical documentation.
  • Valid full UK/Ireland driver’s licence (if travel to project sites is required).
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well within multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Formal training or certification in water treatment, Legionella control, BSRIA or related HVAC commissioning standards.
  • Health & Safety qualifications (e.g., Safe Pass, COSHH training).
