Mechanical Project Engineer (HVAC & Industrial Cooling)

Overview

Crewit Resourcing is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Engineer with strong experience in HVAC systems, industrial cooling, and thermal engineering to join a leading engineering and infrastructure client.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically driven engineer with experience across conceptual, basic, and detailed design, particularly within energy, data centres, or industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the design and development of HVAC and industrial cooling systems across all project phases (concept, basic, and detailed design)
• Design and optimise cooling towers, chilled water systems, and ventilation solutions for industrial and data centre environments
• Prepare and review technical documentation, including:
• Data sheets
• Technical specifications
• Calculation reports
• CFD simulations
• Perform thermal calculations and system modelling to ensure efficiency and performance
• Conduct economic evaluations of engineering solutions, including:
• ROI analysis
• Cost comparisons
• Energy efficiency assessments
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure timely project delivery
• Support project planning, scheduling, and procurement activities
• Participate in testing, commissioning, and performance validation of mechanical systems
• Develop operation & maintenance manuals and lifecycle analysis reports
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality processes

Key Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)
• Strong experience in:
• HVAC design and industrial cooling systems
• Thermal systems and heat exchange processes
• Proven experience working on:
• Power generation projects, data centres, or industrial facilities
• Ability to deliver engineering calculations and technical reports
• Experience with project coordination and multidisciplinary collaboration

Technical Skills

• Design Software: AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor / Fusion 360
• Simulation Tools: ANSYS (CFD and thermal analysis)
• Project Tools: Primavera P6, Aconex, Power BI
• Programming: Python (advantageous)

Desirable Experience

• Cooling tower design and optimisation
• Data centre HVAC systems
• Energy or mining sector projects
• Performance testing and commissioning of thermal systems

• Excellent communication and coordination skills
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and performance
