We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a busy maintenance team operating within Dublin Port, one of Ireland's most important transport and logistics hubs. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic port environment, maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of heavy plant and port equipment that keeps essential cargo moving every day.As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing a wide range of equipment used within a busy port operation. You will carry out both planned maintenance and breakdown repairs to ensure maximum operational uptime.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out preventative maintenance and servicing on heavy plant and port equipment

Diagnose and repair faults on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems

Respond to breakdowns and minimise equipment downtime

Conduct inspections and identify potential maintenance issues

Complete maintenance records and reports accurately

Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures

Collaborate effectively with maintenance and operational teams

Maintain high standards of workmanship and housekeeping
Requirements
Essential:
Qualified Mechanical Fitter, Plant Fitter, Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, or equivalent trade qualifications
Minimum 3 years' experience in a mechanical maintenance or fitting role
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities
Experience working with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
Full Category B Driving Licence
Desirable:
Experience working in ports, logistics, industrial, manufacturing, or heavy plant environments
Experience with cranes, forklifts, terminal equipment, or material handling machinery
Electrical troubleshooting experience
Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems
