Job Description

Procurement, Fleet, Logistics & Facilities Manager (Utilities / Construction)

Location: Kilkenny (on-site)
Contract: 12-month fixed term (with review)
Salary: €60,000–€65,000 (paid monthly)

Our client is a leading utilities provider operating across Energy and Telecommunications.
We’re seeking a hands-on operations leader to own fleet (vehicles, plant & equipment) alongside procurement, logistics/warehouse and facilities—driving cost, service, safety and compliance.

Key responsibilities

  • Fleet leadership (primary focus): End-to-end fleet management across ~300 vehicles, plant and small tools—utilisation, maintenance planning, uptime, compliance, incident/insurance management, fuel/telematics, cost optimisation and lifecycle (acquisition–disposal).

  • Team management: Schedule, train and supervise drivers/yard/warehouse and trades/fitters; set clear KPIs and standards.

  • Procurement: Run sourcing, RFQs/tenders, negotiations and contracts; develop suppliers and track commercial performance.

  • Logistics & warehousing: Materials flow, stock control, kitting, distribution and coordinating site deliveries with project teams.

  • Facilities & yards: Set-up, maintenance and compliance across offices/yards/stores.

  • Data & systems: Use fleet/procurement systems, telematics and reporting to create visibility and action plans.

  • H&S & compliance: Ensure legal, company and environmental standards are embedded in daily operations.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven fleet management experience in construction/civils/utilities (or similar trades-led environment).

    • Track record managing 200+ vehicles/plant (ideally ~300) with measurable results on uptime, safety and cost.

    • Experience coordinating with site managers/foremen and trades to align fleet, deliveries and site constraints.

  • 3+ years in a combined procurement/logistics/warehouse leadership role (utilities/construction preferred).

  • Strong negotiation and supplier management; confident with KPIs (price, quality, OTIF, uptime, TCO).

  • Comfortable leading mixed teams (drivers, warehouse, yard, fitters/trades).

  • Systems-savvy: fleet/telematics and/or procurement platforms; strong MS Office (Excel/PowerPoint/Word/Outlook).

  • Data-driven, organised, calm under pressure; full, current driving licence.

  • Degree in Supply Chain / Logistics / Business (or equivalent experience).

What’s on offer

  • €60,000–€65,000 base (DOE)

  • 12-month FTC with performance review at end of term

  • Learning & development and progression opportunities

  • EAP, Cycle to Work Scheme

  • Positive, collaborative team with real operational impact
