Senior Civil BIM Technician

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil BIM Technician who will involve producing high-quality BIM models and technical drawings, supporting engineers in project delivery, and ensuring BIM standards and best practices are maintained across a range of civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage 3D BIM models for civil engineering projects
• Produce detailed general arrangement drawings, layouts, and construction details
• Work closely with engineers to translate design concepts into accurate technical drawings
• Ensure all deliverables meet project specifications, BIM standards, and quality requirements
• Coordinate models with multidisciplinary teams (architectural, structural, MEP)
• Perform clash detection and assist in resolving coordination issues
• Maintain drawing registers and ensure documentation is up to date
• Support project teams during design and construction phases
• Mentor junior technicians and contribute to team development

Requirements

• Diploma / Degree in Civil Engineering, BIM, or a related discipline
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a Civil Technician / BIM Technician
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and BIM tools (e.g. Revit)
• Experience in roads, drainage, and site development projects
• Good understanding of Irish standards and construction practices
• Experience in model coordination and clash detection
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality drawings
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Experience working within an engineering consultancy environment
• Familiarity with BIM Level 2 standards and workflows
• Experience with InfoDrainage / MicroDrainage
• Exposure to Irish residential or infrastructure projects
