About the Role

Crewit Resourcing is seeking an experienced Energy, Sustainability & Decarbonisation Programme Consultant to lead a large-scale transformation programme within a complex, high-demand infrastructure environment.

This is a strategic and delivery-focused role, responsible for shaping and executing a comprehensive energy and sustainability strategy aligned with national climate targets, including 51% emissions reduction by 2030 and Net Zero by 2050.

You will act as a key advisor and programme lead—driving funding, implementation, and performance across critical sustainability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the review and enhancement of the existing Energy & Sustainability Strategy
  • Establish a clear, auditable baseline for energy use, carbon emissions, and sustainability metrics
  • Develop a phased decarbonisation roadmap with defined priorities and timelines
  • Build a fully costed, multi-year implementation programme (CAPEX & OPEX)
  • Identify and develop carbon-reduction and energy-efficiency projects
  • Conduct technical and financial appraisals, including lifecycle cost analysis
  • Identify and secure funding through public-sector grants and capital programmes
  • Prepare robust business cases for executive approval
  • Align initiatives with relevant sustainability and energy frameworks
  • Lead end-to-end programme execution in a live operational environment
  • Manage contractors and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ensure risk-managed delivery with minimal operational disruption
  • Develop and implement performance tracking and reporting frameworks
  • Provide structured updates to senior stakeholders
  • Track benefits realisation, including energy and carbon savings

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering energy or sustainability programmes in complex, operational environments
  • Strong background in strategy development and financial modelling (CAPEX/OPEX)
  • Demonstrated success in securing public-sector funding or grants
  • Experience managing large-scale infrastructure or estate-based programmes
  • Excellent stakeholder management and programme leadership skills

What’s on Offer

  • Opportunity to lead a high-impact sustainability transformation programme
  • Work on projects directly contributing to national climate action targets
  • Competitive daily rate / salary (depending on experience)
  • Long-term contract with strong strategic exposure
